Security

Meridiana fly S.p.A. has adopted various strategies in order to guarantee customer transaction security. Security Software SSL (secure Socket Layer) is present on the Meridiana fly S.p.A. website server, and provides the highest standard for the protection of economic transactions. SSL Software processes secure transactions from any PC using a browser without the need to download additional software, enabling the transmission of secure information. This procedure offers the maximum possible security, purchase protection and customer confidentiality. In order to guarantee trustworthy transactions, Meridiana fly S.p.A. has joined the Verisign Scheme, a certification Authority and market leader.

Processing personal data

Meridiana fly S.p.A. processes all customer data in accordance with Legislative Decree n. 196 dated June 30 2003 - “Processing and protection of personal data” which was implemented in Italy in accordance with relative EU Regulations.

Legislative decree nr. 196/2003, Article n.7 - access right to personal data and other rights

  1. the interested party has the right to obtain confirmation of the existence of his own personal data, regardless of whether the same has already been recorded, and communication of the same in intelligible form.
  2. the interested party has the right to receive information:
    1. on the origin of the personal data;
    2. on the purpose and relative processing methods;
    3. on the logic applied in the case where the processing is performed using electronic tools;
    4. on the personal data of the holder, the persons in charge and the designated representatives according to the article 5, paragraph 2;
    5. on the subjects or categories of subjects to whom the personal data may be communicated or who may become aware of such data in their capacity as Designated Representatives for the Country or Persons in Charge of Processing;
  3. the interested party has the right to obtain:
    1. the updating, the rectification or, if interested, the integration of the data;
    2. the cancellation, the transformation in anonymous form or the blocking of any data processed in violation of the applicable laws, including those which are not necessary for the purposes for which the data have been collected or subsequently processed;
    3. the confirmation that the operations indicated under sections a) and b) have been brought to the knowledge, along will all relative content, to all persons to whom the data has been communicated or disseminated, except in cases in which such fulfilment is impossible or requires the implementation of activities which are disproportionate in comparison to the protected right.
  4. the interested party has the right to partially or completely oppose:
    1. for legitimate reasons concerning the treatment of his/her personal data, even if relevant to the purpose of the collection of the data;
    2. the processing of personal data concerning him/her in order to receive advertising materials or direct sales or for the performance of market research or interactive business communications.

Airline transport within Italy is subject to:

  • The Italian Aviation Rules and Regulations;
  • The rules and limitations are established by EC regulations n.2027/97 and subsequent modifications n.889/02 and 261/04;
  • The General Rules and Regulations of Domestic Carriage (passengers and baggage) are available at any Meridiana fly S.p.A. airport and tickets office;
  • Carrier regulations and subsequent modifications n. 889/02 and n.261/04;
  • If a passengers journey involves an ultimate destination or stop in a country other than the country of departure, carriage is subject to the rules and limitations relating to liability established by the Regulation (CE) n.2027/97 and subsequent modification n. 889/02, and where not provided for by such Regulations, by the Warsaw Convention unless such a carriage is not “International Carriage” as defined by the convention.
