This section provides details on the general transportation conditions valid on all flights operated by Meridiana fly. For flights operated by other Carriers (Codeshare Flights), please review the conditions present on the website of the Airline that operates the respective flights.

Reservations and tickets
ReservationsFlights can be booked in any Meridiana fly offices, authorized Travel Agencies, or Meridiana fly Call Center 0871 222 9 319 within the UK.
Reservations are only considered finalised after the ticket has been issued. Please advise in advance of any variation or cancellation regarding your reservations to avoid the possible penalties applicable to domestic or international tariffs.
Tickets
Tickets may be purchased via the Internet on the web site, or at the Meridiana fly Call Centre, or at Meridiana fly Travel Agencies or other authorised Travel Agencies.
The following service charges are applied to all tickets sold directly by Meridiana fly through the WTS system by authorised Travel Agencies.

Travel agencies and airport ticket offices have the right to charge, at their discretion, an Agency Fee to the customer for reserving flights and issuing tickets.
Tickets are valid for one year starting from the booking date of flight departure. Such validity time can be reduced in case of purchase under restricted or limited conditions. Meridiana fly can deny air transport in case of non payment of the ticket fare or any other due amount (charges, taxes or extra fees). Passengers are required to pay any due government tax and/or any other further fee not included in the ticket fare directly to Meridiana fly or to the relevant authorities.
Attention: passengers with tickets purchased via our website, Call Centre or WTS for Travel Agents, must print the receipt which, together with a valid form of identification, must be presented at the airport check-in counter.
Changes of reservation
Flights purchased online can be changed, with or without penalty, depending on the conditions applying to the purchased flight. Changes are permitted up to 24 hours prior to the departure of the purchased flight. Changes are not permitted on “WEB”, “SUPER PROMO” rates purchases.
Refund
Depending on the rate type paid for the flight, you may be eligible for a refund. Refund requests are permitted up to 24 hours prior to departure of the purchased flight. “PROMO”, “SUPER PROMO” and “WEB” rates are nonrefundable.
Administration fee for the handling of refunds
Apart from the fare and the possible penalty, Meridiana fly will apply an administration fee for the handling of refunds which amounts to 15.00 Euro per ticket. If the refund due to the customer is less than the administration fee applicable, the refund will not be made. No administration fees are applied to Sardinia and Sicily Territorial Continuity flights.
Warnings:
the additional costs for managing the reimbursement policy are not provided for in the Continuità Sicily rates, and for Continuità Sardinia's facilitated and non facilitated charges.
Minors travelling alone
Meridiana fly pay particular attention to all minors travelling on board their flights to guarantee their security and safety.
Unaccompanied minors
- Meridiana fly accept unaccompanied minors from 5 to 13 years of age on board all their flights.
- All minors can travel if escorted by a person at least 18 years of age who assumes responsibility of the minor. Alternatively, the customer can request assistance for unaccompanied minors through the Meridiana fly Call Centre; the cost of the service is 40 Euro for each flight (ticket office fees excluded) and for each unaccompanied minor. This assistance cannot be booked on our website.
- The availability for such assistance is limited on each flight: it is therefore recommended to make such reservations as early as possible. Such availability will be indicated during the booking phase.
- The transportation of unaccompanied minors will only be possible on direct flights; i.e. flights with no stopovers: for instance, this assistance is possible on Cagliari-Paris, but not on Cagliari-Florence-Paris. Moreover, children aged 2 years and upwards have the same baggage allowance as adults.
Boarding procedures:
Minors will be received by the check-in ground staff: they will wait with the ground staff before boarding and will be accompanied on board the aircraft where they will be handed over to the cabin attendant. Important: when making the reservation, the Customer must communicate the name and contact number (possibly a mobile) of the person that will be escorting the minor on departure and the person who will pick them up on arrival after presenting relative ID. The escort on departure will have to stay at the airport until the aircraft takes off, in case of flight cancellation. On arrival, the ground staff will take care of the minor until the arrival of the parents or relatives.
Warnings:- For flights operated by carriers other than Meridiana fly, the passenger must always check the terms and conditions of the operating carrier.

Special Meals
In case there are special food needs Meridiana Fly is entitled to confirm the availability of the special dish, as long as it is requested at least 48 hours before departure. The vegetarian option is available but it is also upon request.
The request of a special meal has to be transmitted in case of food allergies or religious reasons; requests for special dishes such as lobster, steaks, caviar etc... indicated according to personal taste will not be taken into consideration.
Passengers that suffer from severe food allergies towards dry fruit (nuts, hazelnuts and peanuts) we recommend to bring food products that are suited for their diet needs, as long as they are packaged, and to carry the medical supporting documentation for possible controls of the Safety Authorities.
It is also available, for a cost of 25 Euros, the Kosher meal or breakfast/ snack (KSML), which has to be requested already when booking and not later than 48 hours before the flight.
We inform that it is not available on-board milk for newborns and children. We recommend to those who travel with their family to bring the equivalent of the food requirement for the trip (milk in bottles, homogenized food). During safety controls, testing of the products could be requested, which therefore have to be able to be closed again.
All requests for special meals must be received by the Call Center at number 0871.222 9319 (USA 1 718 751 4499) strictly within 48 hours before departure time.
Transportation of domestic animals
On board of Meridiana fly flights transportation of dogs, cats, singing birds, rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters is permitted if the passenger who travels in the cabin is covered by the statutory health records. In compliance with the provisions of the Company may be taken up in the cabin two containers and not more than one per passenger. The reservation after checking availability and transport confirmation of the animal on board can be make only by the Call Center, even if the passenger asks to his travel agent, it is always necessary for the Agency to contact the carrier.The animal must be cared for at all times by the passenger and should be kept in an appropriate, sturdy, secure rigid container or bag with a leak proof bottom and openings for adequate ventilation. The container taken on board must not exceed the following size: 48x33x29 cm.
The weight of the container, pet and food included, should not exceed a total of 10 Kg (5kg on flights operated by A/M ATR); In addition, pets should not emanate unpleasant odours and must remain in the cage at all times when onboard the aircraft.
If the pet disturbs other passengers, the Captain has the authority to transfer it to the hold. Company regulations stipulate that a maximum of two pets may be taken on board and no more than one per passenger.
The transportation of animals in the hold is available on MD80 - MD82 and A330 aircrafts. The request must be made at the time of booking and is subject to confirmation by the Airline (no more than four animals may be transported in the aircraft hold at any one time).
Where the aircraft is not authorized to transport an animal in the hold and the reservation is not confirmed by the call center 12 hours before departure, the passenger pet’s owner can only have the refund of ticket unused and the cost of animal transport in hold not performed.

Special baggage prices
Note: online purchases (website, call center) or through travel agents provide cheaper fares than purchases at the airport, there are not refundable, however, in case of flight change, you can use the surplus already paid by contacting the same sales channel used during purchase.

Onboard seat assignment
For a comfortable trip that meets everyone’s requirements it is now possible to purchase seats on board online, where “Seat-Com” first row seats or roomier ones close to the emergency exits can be chosen, in addition to standard ones.PRICES

* If the medium haul international flight is operated with Airbus 330, seats in business class will be allocated in advance at a cost of 60 euros.

Only on flights from/to Cairo:
On the flights from/to Cairo, the Egyptian passengers holding a regular working contract in Italy have a baggage allowance of 30 Kg per Adult, 30 kg per Child passenger, 10 Kg per infant (passengers with tickets issued until 6 September 2010 have a baggage allowance of 35 Kg per Adult, 20 kg per Child passenger, 10 Kg per infant).
Only on flights from/to Dakar:
On the flights from/to Dakar, the Senegal passengers holding a regular working contract in Italy have a baggage allowance of 40 Kg per Adult, 40 kg per Child passenger, 10 Kg per infant.

Lock Fare
With the paid service "Lock fare" it is possible to book your flight at the available fare postponing the purchase of the ticket for a few days. The service provides the following costs*: - € 5 each itinerary per passenger on domestic flights
- € 10 each itinerary per passenger on short or medium haul international flights
- € 15 each itinerary per passenger on long-haul international flights
Time Limits for the issue of the ticket:
- for reservations of flights leaving more than 30 days from the booking date, it is possible to lock the fare and purchase the ticket within 4 days following the booking date.
- for reservations of flights leaving between 30 to 15 days from the booking date, it is possible to lock the fare and purchase the ticket within 2 days following the booking date.
- for reservations of flights leaving between 15 to 7 days from the booking date, it is possible to lock the fare and purchase the ticket within 1 day following the booking date.
*The service costs are intended per route per Adult and Child passenger (children from 2 to under 12), Infants travel free of charge (0 to 23 months).
