The History of Eurofly


From 2000 to 2005

Dicember 2000: Eurofly becomes the Alitalia Group's official charter company.

May 2001: Eurofly begins renovating its fleet introducing 5 new 320 Airbus for its medium range network.

Summer 2002: Eurofly becomes the first Italian company to operate long range with two brand new 330-200 Airbus, thus upgrading its fleet.

September 15, 2003: 80% of the stock of Eurofly has been sold out from Alitalia to Spinneker Luxembourg, that on 9th july 2004 will buy the remaining part of the capital stock, becoming the unique stakeholder.

May 2004: launch of the brand new Eurofly portal, where it is possible to purchase Eurofly flights directly without intermediaries and to arrange a personalized vacation.

Falls 2004: Eurofly debuts with its new colors, featuring a large red "e" on the tail with long pearl gray bands running along the fuselage's white background. And from November Eurofly is the first company airline to set an operative basis in Sharm El Sheikh to connect efficiently more then 10 italian cities with this important holiday destination.

Beginning 2005: Eurofly fleet upgrades significantly with the entrance of three aircrafts A- 320.

May 2005: another A-330 enriches long range activities.

Summer 2005: Eurofly launches direct flights between Naples, Palermo, Bologna and New York.

December 2005: Eurofly is listed in the Milan Stock Exchange.
