Fly to Rome from:

Rome (2,700,000 inhabitants) also called “The Eternal City”, is the Italian Republic capital. Rome rises on the banks of the Tiber river; the original settlement developed on the hills in front of the bend on which rises the Tiberine island, the only natural ford of the river. The historical centre of the city is built upon the famous “Seven Hills”: Capitoline, Quirinal, Viminal, Esquiline, Cælian (Coelian/Celio), Aventine and Palatine.
According to tradition it was founded on 21st April 753 BC, and over the course of history (nearly three millenniums) Rome has held an essential role in Italy and Europe ( the first settlements may date back to the X century BC).
Caput Mundi during the Roman era (that is, it was at that time known as the world capital) it is a politic and spiritual reference point at an international level and, in fact, Rome still hosts the enclave of the Vatican City, the heart of Catholic Christianity. The old part of the city centre is evidence of a superimposition of over 2,800 years of history, it is a UNESCO cultural heritage city and is one of the most visited destinations in the world.
Not to be missed is a visit to the ever-popular “Trevi Fountain”, the Colosseum, from were it is possible to admire the wonderful view of the “Imperial Fora”, to the Pantheon, to the Capitol square designed by Michelangelo; and Rome’s numerous museums: starting from the Capitolino Museum, to the Vatican Museums, where we highly recommended a visit to the “Raphael Rooms” (decorated by Raphael and his pupils), to the most magnificent of all the frescoes, the famous chapel ceiling of the Sistine Chapel lavishly decorated with fine frescoes by Michelangelo. Nightlife in Rome is varied and vivacious, and is a great way of discovering the taste of the Roman “Dolce Vita”.
